Adult Christian Education
Our Mission Statement for Adult Ministry
Learn: We will offer a variety of adult learning opportunities including, but not limited to, on-going Sunday school classes, weekday classes, Bible study groups, and short-term classes. We will encourage active learning, regardless of the mode of instruction. We will support the prayer mission of the church and encourage the use of the weekly prayer lists. Also, we will request facilitators and leaders to incorporate prayer into each session.
Love: We will encourage learners to get to know one another within the context of the educational opportunity. Some time should be set aside in each educational opportunity to allow participants to share joys and concerns with the group in the hope of deepening relationships on a personal level.
Laugh: We will encourage leaders and facilitators to look for opportunities to gather informally.
9:00 a.m. Sundays
The Bible Speaks Today
With the Bible in one hand and a newspaper in the other, a thoughtful group gathers on Sunday mornings to discuss how God's Word guides our daily lives. Each week the class studies those scripture passages that serve as the basis for that day's sermon. In this way, the class studies important passages in the Bible and makes their worship experience even more meaningful. Third floor, Room C.
Covenant Class
Themes tie the lessons together, but we attempt to have each class stand on its own in this discussion format Bible study class which explores the meaning of scripture and how it effects our everyday lives. Third floor, Room D.
Witherspoon Class
This class is a unique format consisting of weekly forums with guest speakers which address various church and community topics. First floor, Witherspoon Place.
Schedule

Tuesday Morning Bible Study
We wonder why more people don't join us at 7:00-8:00 a.m. every Tuesday morning for Bible Study in Meeting Room A. You probably just don't know what we're up to. Using the standard 4-selection lectionary for the following Sunday, we read the selections and discuss them as the Spirit leads us. Coffee, juice, and sometimes, "nibbles" are provided. Promptness is not required and leaving early is understood. All of the regulars keep coming back, because we don't want to miss the experience. Let us share it with you.
Downtown Bible Study
The Downtown Bible Study group next will study First Corinthians, beginning on Thursday, December 1. Join the group when it meets from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the fourth floor social room of the San Fransisco Tower condos at Crown Center. Bring a sack lunch and a Bible. For more details, call the church office.
