It's often said that the kitchen is the heart of the home. At Second, the kitchen is the heart of many of our ministries. The kitchen enables our church to host Sunday Lunches where community is built among members, receptions for families to celebrate and grieve, and meals that support our community partners such as the Kansas City Indian Center or Presbyterian Education Board (PEB) in Pakistan. The kitchen, along with our incredible volunteer teams, enables our church to feed people and facilitate connection, belonging, and community.
In August 2023, Second's kitchen was shut down because our stove hood no longer complies with the fire code. To resume cooking, we need to replace the stove, hood and other appliances.
